Are my documents safe?expand_more

Yes. We use TLS 1.3 in transit and AES-256 at rest. Documents are deleted after processing, in line with GDPR.

Do I need to be in Portugal to use the service?expand_more

You can start processes from abroad. Some services (such as AIMA) require physical presence for biometric validation.

Which languages does support cover?expand_more

Portuguese and English in the platform. Email support in Portuguese, English, French and Spanish.

What if my application is rejected?expand_more

We refund in full when rejection is on us. For other reasons, see our terms of service.

How long does the whole process take?expand_more

It depends on the service: NIF can be ready in 1-3 business days; NISS and SNS in 5-10 days; AIMA varies by district (weeks to months).

How long does it take to get the NIF?expand_more

Usually 1-3 business days after submission. The NIF is delivered by post to the address you provided.

Can I obtain the NIF before arriving in Portugal?expand_more

Yes. You can obtain a NIF remotely through a fiscal representative — we take care of it for you.

Who needs a NISS?expand_more

Anyone who plans to work in Portugal (employed or self-employed). Without NISS you can't legally receive a salary.

Can I get NISS without an employment contract?expand_more

Yes — you can obtain NISS in advance as an individual, provided you have NIF and a Portuguese address.

How does the SNS user card work?expand_more

It gives you access to public health-centre appointments, A&E and exams at reduced cost. Sign-up is at the health centre serving your area.

Do I have to pay to use the SNS?expand_more

There are moderating fees for visits and exams that depend on user type. Children, pregnant women and exempt groups pay nothing.

I'm an immigrant — do I have to file IRS?expand_more

If you are tax-resident in Portugal (more than 183 days/year), yes. Even without income it can pay off to file in order to access benefits.

What is the Non-Habitual Resident (NHR) status?expand_more

A tax regime closed to new applicants in 2024. Existing beneficiaries keep their 10-year benefit window.

How easy is it to book AIMA right now?expand_more

Hard — slots are limited, especially in Lisbon and Porto. Inland districts have more availability. We monitor daily.

How long does AIMA take to decide on my application?expand_more

The statutory deadline is 90 working days, but in practice 6-18 months is common depending on permit type and district.
